Description: “VOX” is a 10 minute phone or video call with Michael. You’re welcome to discuss any topic you wish. Please note- this service does not include song analysis.

Why You Need This: this service is perfect if you only need a quick conversation with Michael, or want to add extra time to a “SWITCHED ON” call.

“SCRATCH“

Focus Point: Get Michael’s gut reaction to your song.

Description: “SCRATCH” gives you two things- Michael’s opinion about your song and a few hints about where it could be improved. This service is for all levels of musicianship, and recordings in any stage from rough demos to final masters. Send a song file or link and Michael will give you his take on it. Please note- this service is only for a one-time listen and can’t be used for multiple revisions of a song.

Why You Need This: A new perspective on your music from a trusted expert is priceless. Many artists don’t want a detailed breakdown of their song, just a little context and a few useful takeaways. “SCRATCH” is an unbeatable value.

“WARM JETS“

Focus Point: Get Michael’s gut reaction to your album.

Description: “WARM JETS” answers the question; “Is my album good?” The process is simple- send Michael sound files of your recording and he sends you his notes. This service is limited to 13 songs per project.

“NOW“

Focus Point: Have Michael answer three questions about your song.

Description: “NOW” is a basic song analysis service. You send Michael your song file or link and 3 questions about it. These can be aspects of your song you need help with or questions about anything from composition to performance or production. You’ll receive an email response from Michael with the answers you need. Please note- your questions must be about specific aspects of your song and not general things, like “What does my song need?”

Why You Need This: “NOW” is an entry-level introduction to pre-production- one of the most important stages in a recording.

“DA VINCI“

Focus Point: Have Michael take a deep dive into your song.

Description: “DA VINCI” is a comprehensive pre-production service. Michael will address your questions about your song, plus details that he feels need examining. You send Michael your questions, with a song file or link. You will receive Michael’s response via email. Please note- this is a one-time service without follow-ups.

“DA VINCI“ – ADD ON

An optional add-on to the Da Vinci service for a second round of notes.

“GENERATOR”

Focus Point: Have Michael do pre-production for your song.

Description: “GENERATOR” is a pre-production service that includes three rounds of notes and three hour long consultations with Michael. You send your song file or link to Michael and he will send you in depth notes about your song. In most cases, you will also be asked for stems and song BPM. In those cases, Michael will also send sound files featuring new structures and drum patterns along with his notes.

Next, you will have a video consultation with Michael to discuss his notes. After you integrate his suggestions, you send him an updated demo of your song. This cycle of notes and video consultations repeats two more times. When your “GENERATOR” service is completed, your song will be ready to record.

Why You Need This: Pre-production is so important to song and record creation. However, few people do it anymore because it takes a lot of brainwork and time. Michael is an expert and offers this service in a way that is cost effective for you.

“KANDINSKY“

Focus Point: Have Michael produce your session in half hour chunks.

Description: Are you having trouble getting drum sounds? Is your bassist not playing in the right pocket? Is your mix not coming out well? Wouldn’t it be great to have instant access to an experienced professional to help you get the results while you’re recording? “KANDINSKY” is a remote production service for those and other needs. You can use “KANDINSKY” at any stage of your recording, from tracking, to overdubs, to mix, and even mastering. “KANDINSKY” works in real time via apps such as Source Connect or Audiomovers. Create your own production experience with Michael for as long or as short as you need him.

Why You Need This: When getting instrument sounds or performances is a struggle, recording can be nerve-wracking and waste time. Sometimes, you want experienced ears on hand. Having instant access to Michael and his four-plus decades of production expertise is the easy solution to these problems. “KANDINSKY” is cost-effective because it’s offered in half hour chunk

“MODULAR“

Focus Point: Bring Michael’s production experience to your recording.

Description: The “MODULAR” package means that you can make great recordings with Michael from anywhere in the world. Michael will add production assistance to your session remotely in real time using apps such as Source Connect or Sessionwire. This package really is “MODULAR” because it can be incorporated at any stage of your recording project; with you, an engineer, or even another producer.

The “MODULAR” package covers five distinct areas within the production process:

Programming- help with synthesizer programming, sound choices, etc
Creative Editing- building and improving recorded performances, etc.
Mixing- critiquing and overseeing mixes, etc.
Mastering- reviewing masters, overseeing mastering, etc.

“PIMP COAT“

Focus Point: Design your own production experience to work with Michael.

Description: The “PIMP COAT” package is an assortment of Michael’s services, 100% customized by you and based on your needs. It can include pre-production, as well as all services listed in the “MODULAR” package. Michael works with you remotely, in real time, using Source Connect or Sessionwire apps. This is a custom service that requires advance preparation. The cost shown is an initial base price- actual cost will be determined by the clients’ requirements. Please contact us to design your service prior to purchase.

Time Frame: Service must start within two weeks from date of purchase. Service endpoint to be determined within an eight month period based upon client requirements. “IMPULSE“

Focus Point: Work with Michael by the minute.

Description: “IMPULSE” is a unique approach to music production for two reasons- you design the service according to your needs and your service is calculated by the minute. It can cover everything from remote production to pre-production. Create your own experience to work with Michael, for however long you want.

Artist Support Services

“DISSECTION KIT“

Focus Point: Use Michael’s production experience to guide your artistic growth.

Description: “DISSECTION KIT” is a custom artist development program. This service is offered in month-long chunks and can be structured according to your needs. The focus is artist development, so the normal term for this service runs 3-5 months. With this service, you’ll receive:

A description of program areas of focus and goals that address your specific needs.
Complete pre-production and analysis for the songs you plan to record (up to three songs if you’ve opted for the single month).
Once per-week video conferences for 1 hour to discuss your songs, your progress, etc.

Possibility of additional email communication for song review, critiques, etc (when necessary and time is available

Why You Need This: Artist development is why artists like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Aretha Franklin had careers. All artists eventually need some kind of mentorship. Michael has guided the artistic journeys of artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Soundgarden. He can do the same for you at a fraction of the cost.

“SURRENDER“

Focus Point: Have Michael coach you one on one.

Description: “SURRENDER” is an hour-long video coaching session with Michael for assistance at any stage of your project. If necessary during the session, Source Connect or Audiomovers apps are used for music playback. This service is recommended for producers and engineers, as well as artists.

“SURRENDER” covers all of your questions about areas such as;

Artistic direction, support and development.
Sonic direction and strategizing during pre-production, recording, mixing or mastering.
Confidence and trust in artistic vision.
